As part of the Comprehensive Spending Review the Department for Culture Media & Sport announced the reduction to the heritage body on the 21st October 2010.
The decision has not gone unchallenged with the Umbrella Group's chair, Loyd Grossman retaliating: 'Yesterday's announcements show that government as whole still doesn't quite "get" heritage.'
